Reasons To Choose Lathe Live Tooling

When it comes to Lathe live tooling, there are a number of specific reasons this is an exceptional decision.  For starters, this particular milling machine is designed to produce precise and efficient results.  In addition, lathe live tooling can provide not just one or two services, but multiple services.  The capabilities include full Y-axis controls so off-center face cut along with radial features can be achieved.  Then, the conversational controls allow programming time to be minimized while production efficiency is maximized.

Using rotating power driven tools for cutting, which would include drills and end mills, the results of lathe live tooling is mirror like.  To achieve the desired results, the cutting tools are held in the turret.  With this option, the tools can perform many of the machining operations with the centerline part but at the same time, holding the work piece securely in place with the spindle.  This provides the operator with better and more precise control.

Milling machinery has evolved over the years to keep up with customer demand, which then allows the customer to remain more competitive in a tight market.  One of the greatest changes is with lathe live tooling, which was designed to improve performance.  Using a 4,000 RPM driven turret, cycle times and duty cycles are reduced dramatically, especially when being used in finishing applications for reinforced resins, mild steels, plastics, and aluminum.

Because lathe live tooling involves a low profile of 3.48 inches, the tool is not any taller than you would get with a conventional live tool.  Because of this, the Z-axis clearance for parts and work holding is maintained.  Additionally, the width of lathe live tooling is only 3.15 inches so other tools being held in the turret are not affected.  Obviously, this makes operation more efficient while not sacrificing on performance quality.

Another aspect of lathe live tooling is that a square drive is used.  In fact, to improve torque transmission and quality of twin interlocking labyrinth seals, the ground helical gears are matched.  The benefit is that contamination from chips and coolant is avoided, which could end up being very costly, not to mention causing operation down time.  Lathe live tooling also has a design for ER clamping, which makes changing out tools faster and easier.  With greater force for clamping, better rigidity, and longer drill lengths, lathe live tools are an exceptional value.

Another benefit associated with lathe live tooling is the increase of spindle speed.  In fact, most brands have a 1 to 3 speed increasing ratio, which means the potential for RPM pushes up to 12,000.  The goal with a lathe is to experience exceptional and precise results no matter the material being worked.  While other lathes are beneficial in accomplishing this goal, lathe live tooling surpasses most expectations.

The great thing about lathe live tooling is that options exist for the hobby machinist, as well as the professional company.  While each brand offers something slightly different, they all offer several different configurations.  With this, the operator can choose the turning center configuration as a standalone operation or choose a combination of configurations.  The bottom line is that lathe living tooling is designed to enhance performance.  Thanks to the many features such as high-speed tooling, people can work on a variety of work pieces and enjoy the perfect finish.

The Advantage of CNC Metal Lathes

By Cheyenne Ibit
Metal lathes or metalworking lathes are the large classes of lathes designed for a specific machining. They are designed originally for machine metals. But with the beginning of the plastics and added materials along with their natural versatility, they are now utilized in a broad range of functions. With the machining terminology, from where the large background was previously understood, they are now simply named as lathes. The firm machine tool eliminates materials from a rotating work piece by means of moving the variety of cutting tools.
